For today's B-Movie Boys, I want to talk about The Piranha Movies. Why? Because they are epic and they are a rare B-movie franchise that has spawned decades. Decades! Plus, there are a couple of cute guys. So, yes, these movies have everything. Let's talk about the ultimate creature feature that makes Jaws quake in his fins: Piranha!
The first Piranha movie was released in 1978 and was directed by Joe Dante - a little guy who would go on to make Gremlins - and it was produced by B-movie mogul Roger Corman. We have Roger Corman to thank for backing this idea and believing in it with all of his weirdo passions. This movie was actually meant to be a parody of the 1975 film Jaws and it inspired other horror-comedy parodies that came shortly after it.
Piranha II: The Spawning in 1981 actually upped the ante when it came to introducing hot men to us in the water. Like where was that in the first movie? This sequel was directed by James Cameron! This is Cameron's directorial debut and since he went on to make Titanic, I'm just going to go ahead and say he is obviously WET for the ocean. Cameron's oceanic horniness aside, this movie helps our own horniness by giving us some hot guys in Speedos. Just take a look at Steve Marachuk:
These films took a break until the 1995 remake Piranha, but it wasn't until 2010's Piranha 3D that the franchise took off once again. Piranha 3d is a remake of the original, but with way more female nudity. Fun fact: I saw this movie in the theater, so I can tell you firsthand that it is very fun. It starred Eli Roth, Ving Rhames, Jerry O'Connell, Christopher Lloyd, and Steve R. McQueen.
This movie was followed up by 2012's Piranha 3DD and the title should tell you everything you need to know about the franchise's humor direction. That being said, Piranha 3DD does give us Chris Zylka. We also got to check out the ass and backsack on Jean-Luc Bilodeau's body double. There is also a scene where a small piranha bites onto his dick!
