Bad Together (2023)

We look to the gay streaming platform Dekkoo for hot gay content with a message, and while Bad Together delivers the latter, the hot gay content is nowhere to be found. Boo, but also yay? Maybe queer cinema is heading in a direction less reliant on overt sexuality. Surely this is good for someone. Not us, but someone. Bad Together is a meditation on gay relationships that toe the line between sexual and plutonic. Sometimes we will a friendship into a romance when it was never destined to go there. This is the case for the recently-broken-up-with Robbie (Andrés Erickson) and the party animal Cameron (Queer Niro). We watch their relationship evolve over the years, leading to a heartbreaking finale. What we're left with is very light gay action and a hint of shirtlessness. Bad Together, get it together!
