It was announced last week that HBO drama seriesLooking (2014)was canceled after two seasons. The show, which followed a group of gay friends living life in San Francisco, will not be given a third season, instead there will be special episode to tie up the storyline. While the Michael Lannan-created series wasnt burning up the ratings, it did garner a strong base of loyal fans and the ratings were holding steady, enjoying a modest increase in viewers. But loyalty and modesty couldnt save the show.
Recently, Advocate writer/television connoisseur Jim Halterman penned an open letter to HBO, asking the network to give Looking another chance. Were not sure if Haltermans passionate plea will convince the suits to save the show, but maybe they will be motivated if you and your friends signed the petition asking HBO to renew Looking for a third season.
Personally, Mr. Man is going to miss the show. Where else are you going to see hunks like Murray Bartlett, Jonathan Groff, Matthew Risch, and Russell Toveyget half-nude and same sex curious? Exactly. Sign the petition! They only need a few hundred more signatures to be taken seriously.
