Bowen Yang might have been born in Australia to Chinese parents who emigrated there in the 1980s, but he's now one of the most talented and recognizable faces coming to you every week, Live from New York on Saturday Night Live! Bowen's family bounced from Brisbane to Montreal to Colorado, where Yang eventually found a love of comedy and began working in sketch comedy groups while still in high school. He then left small-town Colorado and moved to New York to go to NYU, where he also started getting familiar with the improv scene around the big apple, while also getting some TV gigs on shows like Broad City and High Maintenance, then in 2019, Bowen was selected to become a featured member of the SNL cast for the 45th season, becoming the first Chinese-American and third openly gay comic to ever be featured on the long-running comedy show. Now Bowen is looking like one of the big breakout stars of the series having been nominated for Primetime Emmy Awards for writing and acting on SNL. Striking while the iron’s hot, he landed a recurring spot on Awkwafina is Nora From Queens and has plenty of movies in the works as well including The Lost City (2022) with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum. Lucky for us too, we finally get to see Bowen pop that shirt off during one of Saturday Night Lives’ cold openings where the shirtless Bowen (with a plunger stuck to one of his nipples) plays it for laughs, but looks smoldering hot! With a career that is just getting started, we look forward to the day we might get to see Mr. Yang’s wang!
