It’s fair to assume the exotic-named Ferdia Walsh-Peelo is a foreign babe. But if you’re guessing he hails from a sizzling locale, you’re wrong since he’s from Ireland! Even more surprising is the fact that Ferdia established himself as a soprano at the age of seven. As a tween, young Walsh-Peelo appeared on stage in a live production Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute. Ferdia further used his melodic skills to land a part in the movie musical Sing Street (2016). His screen debut proved to be a success since it merited a London Film Critics’ Circle nomination for Young British/Irish Performer of the Year. Never one to rest on his laurels, the ambitious ingenue conquered the boob tube as King Alfred on the historical saga Vikings (2017-2020). No doubt, Ferdia picked up some acting tips from his colleagues Travis Fimmel, Gustaf Skarsgård, and Linus Roache. Walsh-Peelo and Fimmel teamed up again for the drama Here Are the Young Men in 2020. Also that year, Ferdia popped up in CODA as the title character’s singing beau. Not only did the coming of age dramedy win an Academy Award for Best Picture, Ferdia shared a Best Ensemble win with Emilia Jones, Troy Kotsur, and Marlee Matlin at the Screen Actors’ Guild Awards. Of course, the hottie won us over with his revealing role in Pistol (2022). Directed by Danny Boyle, the Hulu series charts the early rise of The Sex Pistols.
