English actor Harry Lloyd (not to be confused with America’s bespeckled silent movie star Harold Lloyd) is the great great great grandson of novelist Charles Dickens. Suffice it to say, Harry’s great! As such, the famous offspring made his television debut in the BBC version of David Copperfield (1999) and later played Herbert Pocket in the miniseries Great Expectations (2011). Roles in classic adaptations (not written by Dickens) followed in the theater (The Comedy of Errors, The Duchess of Malfi, Notes From Underground) and on the big (Jane Eyre) and small (Goodbye, Mr. Chips) screens. The boob tube babe portrayed Will Scarlett on Robin Hood (2006-2007); Viserys Targaryen on Game of Thrones (2011); Paul Crosley on Manhattan (2014); Lord Henry Percy, 6th Earl of Northumberland on Wolf Hall (2015); and Matty Beckett on The Fear (2012) for which he nabbed a BAFTA nomination! Yet we’re more impressed with his topless turn on the Starz series Counterpart (2017-2019). As Peter Quayle, Harry doesn’t expose his peter but he lets us see his naked chest while having dimly-lit sex. Although his character seems distracted by the phone, the skintastic stud has our full attention! Next came the sci-fi drama Brave New World (2020) featuring Alden Ehrenreich, Ira Mandela Siobhan, Sen Mitsuji, and Mr. Lloyd’s perfect pecs! Whether on stage (A View from the Bridge, Kiss of the Spider Woman); on film (The Iron Lady, The Theory of Everything); or on TV (Doctor Who, Hang Ups, Marcella), Harry is some body we love to see!
