California kid star Jackie Earle Haley has sure grown up from his days of playing the fresh-faced, cigarette smoking, foul-mouthed little leaguer Kelly Leak in The Bad News Bears (1976), The Bad News Bears in Breaking Training (1977), and The Bad News Bears Go to Japan (1978). Adulthood has earned Jackie many edgy and memorable movie roles, along with a loyal fan following. Before bringing some of Hollywood’s darker characters to life, the likable actor had a successful role in the award-winning bicycle racing drama Breaking Away (1979), which led to a recurring role on the television series spin off of the same name. It was good to see Moocher on the small screen! Jackie lost his clothes and showed some underwear bulge in the rowdy comedy Losin’ It (1983). He makes us want to lose it! Outside of some voice over work, the mid to late 90s were quiet for the talented actor. But Jackie came back strong, portraying the creepy molester Ronnie McGovey in the Oscar nominated drama Little Children (2006). Hats off to Jackie for taking on such a difficult and intense role. What a way to make a come back! In 2009, the versatile actor portrayed the anti-hero Rorschach in the adaptation of the canonical graphic novel Watchmen. Hollywood must’ve been watching, because Jackie scored the devilish role of Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010). Is it just us, or did Jackie look sexy in that red and black striped sweater? Television made room for Jackie as an ex-assassin on the comic book based drama Human Target. The bald is beautiful babe heated up the nineteenth-century, portraying the devious Alexander Stephens in the Oscar-winning film Lincoln (2012). Jackie’s next stop is futuristic Detroit in the reboot of the sci-fi classic RoboCop (2014). Even though Jackie has a knack for playing tough guys and creeps, he still finds a way to creep into our fantasies. I just wish he’d give us more views of his body, because we at Mr. Man think he’s a hottie!
