It's time for another edition of Man Crush Monday and this week was inspired by the release of the Golden Globe Nominations. The one and only Bradley Cooper has had a fascinating career since the last time I shined a #MCM spotlight on him. He went from starring in comedies like Wet Hot American Summer - his very first film - and The Hangover to action films to becoming a serious director (who happens to direct himself). After A Star is Born, it was clear that Bradley Cooper did not come here to play. He's a serious artist. His next film, Maestro, proves that.
Maestro is a serious awards contender. He plays conductor Leonard Bernstein as we learn about him and his wife falling in love. Who wouldn't fall in love with genius maestro Leonard Bernstein - especially when he is played by Bradley Cooper?! This biopic gives us Bradley wearing a prosthetic nose, but he is not one to wear prosthetics in his nude roles. That's great news for us!
Bradley's hottest scenes come before all of this. His very first role was in the zany camp comedy Wet Hot American Summer. Allegedly, he skipped his college graduation to begin shooting the film. He didn't walk in a cap and gown, but he took off his clothes to make love to Michael Ian Black in a shed. His first role was a steamy gay one. A star really was born.
