Multitalented Arkansas-born sensation Ne-Yo (real name Shaffer Chimere Smith) has dominated pop culture for decades and doesn't show any signs of slowing down, especially with his steamy role on the dance series Step Up: High Water. We've got a high watermark in our underwear thanks to his awesome nearly nude role in Step Up, but first we need to get to know the man behind the near nudity! Ne-Yo started out as a songwriter before catching the attention of none other than megaproducer and singer Jay-Z. Jay set Ne-Yo up with a recording contract, and in 2006 Ne-Yo topped the Billboard 200 with his smash hit Platinum selling album In My Own Words. Throughout the rest of the 2000s Ne-Yo continued to churn out hit after hit, garnering Grammy nomination after Grammy nomination. Ne-Yo transitioned to acting in the early 2010s, which gave us many opportunities to appreciate his gorgeous mug on the big and small screen. Audiences have had the pleasure of drinking in this tall glass of water on everything from 90210 to The Mindy Project to Empire to Girls Trip to... so much more. However Ne-Yo somehow managed to keep his bod under wraps until his role in Step Up: High Water in 2022.
