Italian stud Nick Sandow is one of those guys you know you’ve seen before, but you’re not entirely sure where. If you grew up in the Bronx in the ‘70s, you may have seen him around the neighborhood. But chances are more likely you’ve caught him in one of the over 150 episodes of TV he’s been in, or in one of the over 40 films. (He’s also been in a mini-series and two TV movies, but those numbers seem paltry in comparison.) One of his best-known roles was playing Warden Joe Caputo in the hit Netflix show Orange Is the New Black from 2013-2019. This is where he shows quite a bit of his naked self, hair chest and tight buns included. (That dick-pic? Not really his penis; he used a double for that one.) Other places on TV where he’s made an appearance include New York Undercover, Law & Order, the recurring character of Joe Lombardo on Third Watch from 2000-2022, NYPD Blue, New Amsterdam, Blue Bloods, and CSI: Miami (basically every cop show in primetime), and as both Waxey Gordon in Boardwalk Empire from 2011-2012, and Murray Clark on Clarice in 2021. On the big screen, you’ve seen him with Joaquin Phoenix in Return to Paradise (1998), in Swimfan(2002) with Jesse Bradford, and in The Sitter (2011) with Jonah Hill, among other big-screen projects. Behind the camera, he wrote and directed The Wannabe, and starred as Anthony in the movie, which was executive-produced by Martin Scorsese. He also teamed with Jay-Z to create Spike Network’s Time: The Kalief Browder Story, and produced Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story for Paramount. So, not just a pretty face. A smart one, too.
