With the recent revelation that the upcoming Joker sequel Joker: Folie à Deux was rated R by the MPA for “strong violence, language throughout, some sexuality and brief full nudity,” we here at Man Central can’t help but wonder if that means star Joaquin Phoenix will be stripping all the way down as the titular supervillain.

While his Arthur Fleck only went shirtless and displayed some bulge in the 2019 original, it wouldn’t be the first time Joaquin’s gone nude - in fact - nudity seems to be a prerequisite for playing DC’s demonic prankster. Looking back, lots of former Jokers have gone bare. But have any of them flashed frontal before? Let’s skinvestigate!

This classic Hollywood icon brought the larger-than-life Joker to the big screen in Tim Burton’s 1989 blockbuster, Batman. Before that, he brought his butt cheeks to the big screen several times, including in Chinatown (1974) and Carnal Knowledge (1971) - the latter even giving us a glimpse of his pubes and plums. Holy ballsack, Batman!

It’s all about that laugh. That’s right, Luke Skywalker will also forever be known as the benchmark voice for all Jokers thanks to his amazing performance of the Caped Crusader’s number one arch nemesis in Batman: The Animated Series. The only thing more captivating is the Jedi’s juicy buns in Body Bags (1993). Who wouldn’t want to bag that body?

Speaking of voice-over work, one of the best Joker performances of last decade unexpectedly came from another Todd Phillips regular. The Hangover star’s portrayal in The Lego Batman is almost as underrated as his very squeezable seat.

Heath Ledger Nude
The only person to win a (posthumous) Oscar for playing the Joker in The Dark Knight (2008), Heath is also the only one on this list to go fully nude, which he did briefly in 2007’s I’m Not There. Between his talent, this tush, and his impressive tallywacker, Heath even had straight men wondering to themselves “Why so bi-curious?”
