In addition to being married to Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Mariska Hargitay, Peter also starred on the show with her, in the recurring role of attorney Trevor Langan from 2002-2022. Born in New York City but raised in Germany until the age of 10, Peter actually speaks four languages: English, German, French, and Spanish. Before becoming an actor, he taught ESL for Teach for America, and was a fact checker at Vanity Fair. One of his first roles was playing Dr. Michael Burke on the daytime soap opera Guiding Light from 1987-1998, then he popped up all over primetime in shows like Get Real, Law & Order, Hack, Sex and the City, and Hope & Faith.
