Biography

There may be something rotten in Denmark, but there’s someone rockin’ in Sweden — and that’s actor/musician Peter Stormare. After playing Hamlet on stage, the Scandinavian native conquered the world of entertainment. He kicked off his career in the period piece Fanny and Alexander (1982) directed by the legendary Ingmar Bergman. Since then, Peter worked with other famed filmmakers, including Louis Malle (Damage); Lars von Trier (Dancer in the Dark); Lasse Hallström (Chocolat); Penny Marshall (Awakenings) and Joel Schumacher (8mm, Bad Company). Stormare often collaborated with blockbuster mavens Steven Spielberg (The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Minority Report) and Michael Bay (Armageddon, Bad Boys II, Pain & Gain) as well as the auteurs Joel and Ethan Coen (The Big Lebowski, Fargo), and Terry Gilliam (The Brothers Grimm, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, The Zero Theorem). Peter also shared the big screen with Keanu Reeves in Constantine (2005), Henry’s Crime (2010), and John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017). In addition to making Asian-influenced flicks (Tai Chi Hero, The Last Stand, Windtalkers, The Tuxedo, VIP), the skinternational stud lent his unique presence to films from America (Playing God, 22 Jump Street); Austria (Siberian Education); Italy (Reflections in a Dark Sky); and Sweden (Lyftet, Commander Hamilton). No stranger to television, the boob tuber appeared on sitcoms (Seinfeld, Watching, Swedish Dicks, LA to Vegas); dramatic shows (Prison Break, Longmire); and fantasy series (Arrow, American Gods). Yet we’ve acquired a taste for Pete’s part in Bruiser (2000) since the George Romero thriller showcases Stormare’s sizzling sausage and Swedish meatballs!
