Everything is bigger in Texas, and Rip Torn is a prime example of the catchy motto’s inherent double entendre. Rip is a large and legendary actor that came to fruition during Hollywood’s glory days. Mainly known as a character actor, Rip commanded a memorable performance as Lt. Walter Russel in the war drama Pork Chop Hill (1959). We always love a man in uniform! The larger-than-life actor even took on the role of the backstabbing Judas in the biblical drama King of Kings (1961). We would’ve gladly given Rip thirty silver pieces to have taken off his robe! Rip spent the 60s amping up the boob tube with small roles on shows like Channing, The Eleventh Hour, Combat!, and Rawhide. It was in the 1973 cult classic Payday that the big screen got a look at a shirtless and sexy actor. He made country music seem so sexy and seductive! And it was in the crazy sci-fi drama The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976) where we got to see Rip’s dink while he got sexy with a dame. The film made our pants fall to the floor! In the 1982 comedy Jinxed!, we got the quickest flash of flesh from Rip. He left us wanting more, but we appreciated the thought…and the view! A whole new generation got well acquainted with Rip’s rear end in the goofy comedy Freddy Got Fingered (2001). Freddy got the finger, but we got the moon! Lookin’ pretty good, Mr. Torn. The legendary stud from the Lone Star State continues to thrill cinemagoers with bit roles in thought provoking flicks like August (2008), Happy Tears (2009), and The Afterlight (2009). We’re still thrilled to no end with Rip’s skin-tributions to the big screen. He’s given us plenty of moments to rip our clothes off and get lost in ourselves!
