Saw II (2005)

The beginning of the Saw franchise blockbuster machine was born with the October 2005 release of Saw II (2005). The mythology of John "Jigsaw" Kramer (Tobin Bell) deepens as we learn about a network of accomplices helping him build his elaborate traps. Detectives Eric Matthews (Donnie Wahlberg) and Allison Kerry (Shawnee Smith) are hot on his trail, finding and arresting him soon after after a police informant (Noam Jenkins) is found dead in one of Jigsaw's signature contraptions. However, it's one of the classic "the bad guy wants to get caught" scenarios, as Jigsaw is currently running as many as eight other purity tests on people across the city! Noam Jenkins provides the film's only sexiness as the aforementioned stool pigeon, who bulges out his underwear while wrestling with one of Jigsaw's traps three minutes in to the flick!
