The Surrender is a surrealistic horror movie grounded in very real trauma. It's about a mother and daughter grieving over the loss of their father/husband after tirelessly caring for him as he fell increasingly ill over time. Gluttons for punishment, they're so desperate to bring him back from the dead that they do a terrifying ritual that subjects them to eternal darkness - all in hopes of reviving the family patriarch. Same girl, same. Actually, not same! If this seems like a premise that lacks great male nudity, that's because it is. But Neil Sandilands does open the flick by showing off some skin in a surrealistic, gruesome scene. Neil, what's the deal?
