A year ago we announced that Fellow Travelers was going to be made, a gay love story starring gay hotties Jonathan Bailey and Matt Bomer. So...where is that show? Well, guess what? It's almost here! The Showtime series Fellow Travelers will be released at the end of the month and we simply cannot wait.
This sultry miniseries is based on a book by the same title. Thomas Mallon wrote the novel Fellow Travelers and released it in 2007. The film and novel, however, are set during the McCarthy years in Washington, D.C., where two very different men fall in love with one another and start meeting in secret and have rendezvous.
At the height of McCarthyism, the two hotties start a passionate romance. The romance actually expands beyond that time period. The pair do not get found out in the 50s, so they continue meeting up and making love all the way through the 1960s where they continue to see more major social changes. They keep getting together and dicking each other down during the days of disco when the 1970s were ripe. Then they kept it going through the 1980s, all the way through the AIDS crisis.
This historical drama follows two men whose love (and sex...I am hoping for lots of sex) spans decades and faces several different obstacles through decades that featured massive amounts of social upheaval. This is like Brokeback Mountain meets Forrest Gump. Or so it seems. I hope that it has a lot more explicit gay sex than both of those films combined (Forrest was never gay enough for my liking, but I wouldn't be against it).
While we are still waiting for this show to drop, we do not have to wait to see Bomer and Bailey nude (Bomer and Bailey does sound like the name of a circus, by the way...a gay circus). Matt Bomer is a gay icon and this icon has had some iconic nude scenes. He flashed his penis at the very beginning of the cinematic adaptation of The Boys in the Band in 2020. He had us singing!
Bomer is sort of a known gay hottie. He has starred in American Horror Story, The Sinner, and the wonderful The Normal Heart which showed off his ass as he cuddled with Mark Ruffalo. Bailey, however, is new on the scene.
Jonathan Bailey is our latest obsession, having gone nude in Netflix's Bridgerton. He showed off his booty in several romantic scenes. He hangs out with a woman during them - just as he does when he plays the impish character in Phoebe Waller-Bridge's early comedy Crashing.
The best part about this pairing? They are both openly gay actors. Finally! I love that we are seeing gay actors play gay roles. Let's see some realistic hot male-on-male lust. I know I'm ready for it and I have a feeling I'm not the only one (that's why you're here).
