Yang Shi Bin Nude

You gotta love it when an old-timer gets some SKIN in the game with a much later in life Nude-Comer debut and for Singapore's own Yang Shi Bin he does so with his lone credit at the ripe age of 72!  Yang Shi Bin was born in 1948 in the asian metropolis, Singapore, and although he is new to the screen, he has blown away audiences with his first feature film appearance in the love-lorn drama Wet Season (2019), from the acclaimed director Anthony Chen.  The film follows a language teacher who forms a special bond with one of her students, which crosses plenty of lines that should not be crossed between student/teacher.  As they both realize that their lives are miserable in different ways, they begin to slowly fall for one another.  For student Weilun (Jia Ler Koh), he has been abandoned by his family and left to fend for himself and for teacher, Ling (Yann Yann Yeo), she's infertile and trapped in a loveless marriage whila slo caring for her father-in-law, played by Yang Shi Bin.  While this septuagenarian only has a bit of screen time in this one, he shows us pretty much everything he has to offer as an invalid elderly man, being bathed and changed.  It's a powerful enough portrayal that it garnered Yang Shi Bin a Golden Horse Award nomination for his work in the acclaimed feature.  Hopefully it brings him into more households worldwide because 72 is the new 42 these days and he's about as adorable as they come and we want more!
