Biography

We want to mash with M*A*S*H star Alan Alda! From 1972 to 1983, the six-time Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner charmed fans with his portrayal of Dr. Hawkeye Pierce. We just wish the good looking doctor made house calls! The smash hit series was set during the Korean War. In real life, Alda served as a gunnery officer in Korea for six months. Thankfully, the show lasted a lot longer. The finale was the most-watched television broadcast in American history. In other words, Alan made the Nielsen ratings rise as well as Mr. Man’s pants! Through the years, the Bronx native dazzled audiences on stage (Art, The Apple Tree, Jake’s Women, Glengarry Glen Ross), on TV (30 Rock, Ray Donovan, The West Wing), and on film (Bridge of Spies, California Suite, Flirting with Disaster, Marriage Story, and Same Time, Next Year) with his witty deliveries and tall physique. The supporting actor nabbed an Oscar nomination for Martin Scorsese’s The Aviator (2004) and a BAFTA nod for Woody Allen’s Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989). Alda also popped up in Allen’s Manhattan Murder Mystery (1993) and Everyone Says I Love You (1996). The overachiever wrote, directed and starred in The Four Seasons (1981), Sweet Liberty (1986), A New Life (1988), and Betsy’s Wedding (1990). But we’re more turned on by Alan’s topless turn in the horror flick The Mephisto Waltz (1971) since it features his bare chest and boxer shorts! Alda authored “Never Have Your Dog Stuffed” (2005). But we’d love to stuff him!
