Biography

Albert Brooks is a man of many talents. He’s an actor (Weeds), writer (The Scout), director (Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World), and novelist (2030: The Real Story of What Happens to America). The Beverly Hills babe made his boob tube debut on the medical series Marcus Welby, M.D. in 1969. He moved on to movies, beginning with a role in Martin Scorsese’s dramatic classic Taxi Driver (1976). Over the years, Albert could be seen in the dramedy My First Mister (2001) and heard in the animated flicks Finding Nemo (2003) and Finding Dory (2016). The overanalyzing overachiever found his filmmaking voice while serving as writer/director/star of the comedies Real Life (1979) with Charles Grodin: Lost in America (1985) with Julie Hagerty; Defending Your Life (1991) with Meryl Streep; Mother (1996) with Debbie Reynolds; The Muse (1999) with Andie MacDowell; and Modern Romance (1981) with Kathryn Harrold. The latter has the furry funnyman flaunting his hairy back (and front) while wearing just a towel! We’d love to give the wooly dude an award for his overgrown chest! Instead, Mr. Brooks nabbed an Academy Award nomination for his supporting performance in Broadcast News (1987) featuring Holly Hunter, William Hurt, and Jack Nicholson. Whether being serious (Drive, A Most Violent Year, Out of Sight, Terms of Endearment) or seriously funny (Private Benjamin, The In-Laws, The Simpsons Movie, This Is 40, Unfaithfully Yours), fans can count on the curly-headed hottie to warm the cockles of their hearts — among other parts of their bodies!
