American Odyssey (2015)

A United States soldier, a corporate lawyer, and a left-wing activist find themselves tangled up in a dangerous plot in the NBC drama American Odyssey (2015), not to be confused with the Bradley Cooper flicks American Hustle (2013) and American Sniper (2014). Conceived as a retelling of Homer’s Odyssey, this TV series features Anna Friel as Sergeant Odelle Ballard. While on a special mission pursuing a wanted terrorist, she stumbles across computer files that reveal a major corporation is funneling money to terrorists. When Odelle tells her boss Colonel Stephen Glen (Treat Williams) about what she’s uncovered, he immediately dispatches a team to get rid of her. As a result, Ballard must lay low, leading people to think she’s dead. Meanwhile, New York attorney Peter Decker (Peter Facinelli) makes his own discovery about the corrupt corporation. Thanks to the help of the eccentric hacker Bob Offer (Nate Mooney), political activist Harrison Walters (Jake Robinson) is privy to information about a possible coverup regarding Odelle’s reported death. It all adds up to a thrilling (albeit short-lived) show. Yes, the odyssey ended after only one season. But at least it made time to offer topless views of Mr. Robinson who struts his stuff in skintight briefs! The 13-part saga also includes Alex Kingston, Daniella Pineda, Grégory Fitoussi, Jim True-Frost, Reed Birney, Sarah Wynter, Stephen Caffrey, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s built body. On episode 6, the ebony hunk shows off his six-pack. As you can guess, we’d love to go on an odyssey with triple A!
