Does anyone have as crazy a success story as Brendan Hunt? After graduating with a degree in theatre from Illinois State University in 1996, Brendan would study comedy with Chicago’s famed Second City troupe, where he’d meet and befriend future Saturday Night Live! cast member Jason Sudeikis. The two would go on to work with other upcoming comedy stars like Jordan Peele and Seth Meyers as writers and performers with Boom Chicago, an improvisational group that produced a live comedy show in Chicago in 2003 and a Netherlands-based news program from Comedy Central in 2007. Brendan would write and perform in his own stage productions, like his one man show Five Years in Amsterdam or the Peanuts parody he thought up during Burning Man, while also pursuing a career on screen, landing multiple bit roles on sitcoms such as Reno 911! (2009), Parks and Recreation (2010), and Community (2011). His continued friendship with rising star Sudeikis would nab him brief appearances in films like We’re the Millers (2013) and Horrible Bosses 2 (2014). He’d also keep writing more sketch television comedy, getting a gig through his former Boom Chicago pal on the series Key and Peele in 2015. During all this, while lending his voice talents to a number of animated series and games , such as Fallout 4, he and Sudeikis would begin to collaborate on a comedy show script about an American football coach who gets hired to head a British football team despite having no knowledge of the sport. Ted Lasso would premiere on Apple TV+ in 2020 and become an instant sensation, earning critical acclaim and numerous Emmy awards. It would also launch Brendan into stardom as the stoic enigma that is Coach Beard, with the show’s third season being notably revealing in more ways than one. Right after the season’s penultimate episode where we finally learn the surprising backstory of Beard and Lasso’s friendship, the finale surprised us even more with Brendan’s thonged bum cheeks and cherry red bulge! If you consider the hilarious multi-hyphenate’s lengthy career, it’s definitely a flash of skin that’s been a long time coming, and now we’ll be on the hunt for more nudity from Brendan for the rest of his career!
