Christmas on the Farm (2021)

Taking a page out of holiday comedies like Christmas in Connecticut, this Australian rom com centers on a New York writer Emmy (Poppy Montgomery) who uses her deceased mother’s journals to craft a memoir full of recipes and cute anecdotes written from the perspective of an Australian author living on the outskirts of Queensland on a farm with her husband and daughter. A publishing company offers her a million dollar deal for the manuscript, but first they want to experience life on the farm for themselves, so Emmy goes back to her mother’s farm and gets her gay cousin’s husband to pretend to be her husband (they make up a story about the daughter being away) so they can receive the publisher and her handsome son Jackson (Darren McMullen). But whoops - it turns out Emmy and Jack had a drunken one night stand back in New York that only she remembers. More unexpected guests show up, antics ensue, and eventually the truth comes out. Oh, and it’s Christmas! While these sort of romantic holiday films aren’t usually known for nudity, we do get some shirtless Hugh Sheridan (who plays her cousin David) in bed with his husband Miles (Nicholas Brown) sharing some smooches, plus a sexy late night swim with Darren stripping down to his skivvies. There’s even a nice hint of crack in the back, so now we’re dying to know what Darren’s got going on down under!
