City Rats (2008)

Before folks in the US were entertained by the wholesome faces of a young Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling on the Disney Channel’s The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1993-1995), the United Kingdom ushered in a lost lot in City Rats (2008). These London losers consist of Carol (Natasha Williams), Chris (James Lance), Dean (Ray Panthaki), Gina (Susan Lynch), Jim (Tamer Hassan), Olly (Kenny Doughty), Pete (Danny Dyer), and Sammy (MyAnna Buring). Under the direction of Steve M. Kelly, the drama tells the dark tale of soul-searching Londoners who are loosely connected by their suffering and sour-pussing. In fact, Jim is so miserable that he bides his time dropping watermelons off his office roof to test for the proper suicide splat. One day, he spots Sammy on another roof. As you can guess, she’s about to jump to her death. But instead of flinging themselves into forever together, the two start to talk to each other. Suffice it to say, the pair embark on their own personal version of Sadsacks and the City. Luckily, everything isn’t depressing for the viewers. Instead of feeling down, the members on audience members may just be going up! This is especially true when Mr. Doughty flashes his abs and ass when he gets out of the shower. Quick, grab a towel! If that’s not hot enough, Mr. Panthaki shows off his naked T&A too. Although this pic has a 0% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the flesh featured feels fresh to us!
