Donald Warren Moffett, better known as D.W. Moffett, got his start in Chicago — as an investment broker! Even though he held a degree from Stanford University, the brainy babe wanted to be on stage instead. Consequently, the up-and-comer appeared in plenty of local plays before heading to Broadway. Yet with his good looks, it made more sense for the 6’ 5” stunner to earn a living in front of the camera. As such, D.W. could be seen on the big and small screens. After making his debut in the TV movie An Early Frost (1985), the hardworking hottie sizzled in NBC’s Fine Things (1990). The boob tube babe portrayed Det. Tony Jonas on The Oldest Rookie (1987-1988); Mike Kulchak on Chicago Sons (1997); Dean Winston on For Your Love (1998-2002); Danny Clark on Life Is Wild (2007-2008); Joe McCoy on Friday Night Lights (2008-2010); Elliot on Happily Divorced (2011-2012); John Kennish on Switched at Birth (2011-2017); and Cornelius Rhodes on Chicago Med (2015-2019). Meanwhile at the cinema, movie goers enjoyed D.W.’s sexy presence in thrillers (Black Widow, Pacific Heights, Twisted) and dramas (Falling Down, Traffic, Thirteen). Of course, we’d rather steal a peek at the pretty performer in Bernardo Bertolucci’s Stealing Beauty (1996). The period piece features Joseph Fiennes, Liv Tyler, Rachel Weisz, and D.W.’s bare chest.
