Diana: The Musical (2021) is a theatrical musical that no one saw coming. It's the musical that you did not know you needed and, yes, it is indeed about the life and death of Princess Diana. We see Diana's rise from "regular girl" (she was still upper class, so it's not entirely a Cinderella story) to becoming the extremely beloved princess of Wales. We see her struggling in her public marriage, going through a very public divorce, her divorcee lifestyle sleeping with sexy men, and the tragic accident that took her life. This musical was released on Netflix by director Christopher Ashley. David Bryan wrote the music and Joe DiPietro wrote the book. This was filmed ahead of its Broadway opening. Lucky us! Remember how we mentioned her divorcee lifestyle in which she was sleeping with sexy men? James Hewitt was one of those men and he is played to sexy perfection in this musical. Gareth Keegan plays James, the cavalry officer in the British Army who had an affair with Diana while she was still technically married. He makes a stunning entrance when he is shirtless and wearing tight khaki pants. He looks like a Chippendale dancer! Watch this shirtless hunk enter straddled on a, um, horse. What a ride! He hops off and starts seducing 1990s women onstage, showing them everything that James has to offer. If he was good enough for the Princess of Wales, then he is definitely good enough for us. Let's go Gareth, take off those pants!
