Grim Woods (2019)

The Canadian horror flick Grim Woods (2019), also known as The Book of Nightmares, features several different horror movie tropes all mashed up into one flick, not unlike The Cabin in the Woods (2012), though it obviously takes heavy inspiration from the work of Stephen King. At a summer camp in the remote Canadian wilderness, four counselors entertain themselves around the campfire while the campers are all asleep in bed. One of the counselors shows the others a book that was confiscated from one of the students featuring four tales of horror. The first involves a clown named Freakshow who lives in the bedroom of a little girl, watching over her and protecting her from any evil that may come her way. One day, however, the clown goes missing and the little girl loses it, but when Freakshow reappears, he plans on taking his revenge on the girl's family members who tried to get rid of him! The second story involves a Romani curse, not unlike King's own Bachman book Thinner, which turns a seemingly normal person into a monster! The third tale centers around the legend of ancient Sirens in the Netherlands, luring unsuspecting sailors to their doom, while the fourth and final tale is set at a summer camp, bringing all four story threads together in one location! Like many horror films, it's more focused on female nudity than male nudity, but we do get a nice look at the film's co-star Gary Buffit's ass when he strips down to go skinny dipping an hour and twelve minutes in! Now that's an extra-curricular camp activity we can get behind... literally!
