Review

This coming out story has a hint of 27 Dresses, and not just because it stars Katherine Heigl. Jenny's Wedding tells the story of a woman named Jenny (obviously) who is openly gay with everyone except for her buttoned-up family. When she's interrogated at home about her lack of a boyriend, she hints that she may already be in a meaningful relationship (with Alexis Bledel). They naturally assume that she's probably having an affair with a married man if she's keeping the relationship a secret, so she eventually divulges the truth: She's been dating a woman for five years and is planning on getting married soon. Her conservative family is less than excited, but she presses on anyway, telling them they can basically accept for the person she is or leave her alone. They all come around, of course, including her sister's lackluster husband, who offers us our only hint of skin when he strips off his shirt in bed. Sigh. We hoped Jenny's wedding would get a little rowdier!
