Scare Package (2019)

Has there ever been a genre more fitting for the vignette story format than horror flicks?  We've seen it done with Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983), Tales from the Darkside: The Movie (1990), V/H/S (2012), and about a kajillion more movies, dating back to the early days of slashers, monsters, and creature features.  So, Scare Package (2019), is an aptly titled way to deliver 8 short stories from 8 different directors and an overlapping cast of characters.  We enter this world through Chad, the owner of Rad Chad's Horror Emporium, a genre specific video store that is clearly a passion project for Chad as there are no customers...  For Chad though, retelling horror stories to his newly hired apprentice at the horror emporium lets the new guy know about the world monsters, mayhem, ghouls, and ghosts.  He weaves between stories of goop covered monsters in the woods, two women being slashed to death after letting a stranger in the house, a group of women hating werewolves, a couple of un-killable monsters hunting typical horror movie trope relating characters, and more.  As the stories begin to unfold, we begin to see that they all might be related and Chad might have more nefarious ideas for his video store than he lets on!  Along the way, we don't get to see much skin though...  The only glance at the guys getting naked comes from American Ninja alum, Justin Maina, who is about the most physically fit specimen you've ever seen, but he doesn't stand a chance without that shirt on against The Impaler...
