With a mop of wavy, dark hair; a sometimes beard; and a baritone-tenor voice that is as recognizable as it is impressive, Josh Groban is a name just about everyone knows. Katy Perry wrote a song about him, called “The One That Got Away,” and he calls Mandy Moore one of his good friends. He attended Carnegie Mellon University with Josh Gad, and David E. Kelley was so impressed with one of his singing performances, that he gave him his first TV role, playing a character on Ally McBeal. When he stood in for Andrea Bocelli and did a duet with Céline Dion at the 1998 Grammy Awards, his fate was sealed. His 2001 self-titled debut album was certified five times platinum, and he’s since released a total of eight full-length albums, selling over 30 million copies of his records and DVDs worldwide. As an actor, you can see him on the big screen as Richard in Crazy Stupid Love (2011), as a maximum security prisoner in Muppets Most Wanted (2014), and as Reverend Dan in John Krasinski’s The Hollars (2016). On the little screen, he’s appeared as himself in tons of primetime shows, and played Dirty Dave in Happyland in 2014, and Professor Frink’s singing voice in The Simpsons in 2019. Josh also showed off his partially furry pecs as Tony Caruso Jr. in the Netflix series The Good Cop, where he co-starred with Tony Danza in 2018.
