Born in Wellington, New Zealand, action movie hunk Karl Urban is sure to give you a swellington in your antipodes. Karl had first acting TV acting role was when he was 8 but then he decided to focus on his education and didn’t act again until after high school, when he appeared in the New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street. Karl spent a year at Victoria University before he dropped out to act full time and started getting work in local theater productions. Soon, Karl found himself in Auckland, getting roles on TV shows like Shark in the Park, White Fang, Amazon High, and Riding High and in movies like Once in Chunuck Bay (1992), Heaven (1998), and Via Sattelite (1998). Karl got his big break when he was cast as first Cupid and then Julius Caesar on Hercules: Legendary Journeys, reprising both roles on the sister series Xena: Warrior Princess. This casting make sense, because two things we’d like Karl to do is pierce us with his arrow of love and cross our rubicon. Soon after, Karl was a boner fide action star, playing the bellicose Éomer in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the dour Judge Dredd in Dredd (2012), and “Bones” McCoy in the reboot of Star Trek (2009). When it comes to Karl, there’s only one bone we care about! You'll definitely not want to miss The Loft (2014) where Karl loses his shirt and underwear, showing us that delectable seat meat and shirtless torso in the process. Keep 'em coming, Karl!
