Meet the Parents' Teri Polo headlines the intense thriller Legacy of Fear (2006), playing a detective still chasing the demented criminal who victimized her family decades earlier. 30 years earlier, JJ's mother (Jean Nicolai) was murdered in front of her six-year old eyes and, of course, they never caught the killer. Worse still, her police detective father (Stephen Spender) was driven mad trying to solve the case, eventually ending his own life. JJ has spent the last three decades living with those memories and, more importantly, the knowledge that the person who did this is still out there somewhere. When a serial killer who seems to fit the profile begins leaving tantalizing clues for JJ, the police think they've got their man. JJ, however, is convinced that it's a copycat and not the man who murdered her mother, but this cunning criminal continually evades capture and is seemingly always one step ahead of JJ's every move. She must now confront the reality not only of who she is, but also of who she's become, in this single-minded pursuit that has defined her entire life. Whether or not it's the same man who first altered her life, her quest to bring him to justice will never end, even if it does actually end. While there's no male nudity to speak of in this effort, we do take a trip to a male strip club where Etienne Filion and some other uncredited male dancers nicely bulge out in their budgie smugglers! Too bad we can't see the Legacy of His Rear!
