Before directing Liam Neeson in Chloe (2009), Ryan Reynolds in The Captive (2014) and Christopher Plummer in Remember (2015), filmmaker Atom Egoyan elicited the talents of Colin Firth and Kevin Bacon in Where the Truth Lies (2005). Not to be confused with the thriller Where the Truth Lies (1962) or the thriller What Lies Beneath (2000), this thriller is based on a novel by  Rupert Holmes. It centers around a comedy duo similar to Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis who were big in the mid-20th-century. As such, this crime drama begins in 1957 when Lanny Morris (Bacon) and Vince Collins (Firth) are huge stars. But their careers take a hit when a naked blonde chick (Rachel Blanchard) is found dead in their hotel room. Before she goes, Lanny bones her from behind. The skintastic act showcases Kevin’s back and buns. But he’s surprised when a naked Colin joins in and tries to make a Bacon sandwich! Fast-forward to 1972 when journalist Karen O’Connor (Alison Lohman) starts to investigate what really happened on that night. No doubt, she’ll be talking to a lot of people. But who knows what Jack Scaglia (Beau Starr) or Sally Sanmarco (Maury Chaykin) know. Maybe Lanny’s valet Reuben (David Hayman) is the one who holds the key to the mystery. Of course, you’ll be holding your zipper when Bacon flashes his ass while having sex with a women just six minutes into the plot. Although this flick was a financial flop, Mr. Man gives it a dick up!
