Phone numbers don’t just exist in old yellow books or on bathroom walls — they can also be found in titles of songs. Years after Wilson Pickett recorded “634-5789 (Soulsville, U.S.A.)” in 1965, Tommy Tutone hit it big with “867-5309/Jenny” which made the Billboard Hot 100 and reached #1 on the Rock Top Tracks chart in 1982. Since then, Tina Turner released the single “634-5789” in 1988 as did Trace Adkins with “634-5789” in 1997. Twenty years later, American rapper Logic, Canadian singer/songwriter Alessia Cara and American singer/songwriter Khalid collaborated on “1-800-273-8255” (also known as “1-800”). As such, a same-named music video came out in 2017. Under the direction of Andy Hines, this drama features Don (Hotel Rwanda) Cheadle, Luis (Boogie Nights) Guzmán, and Matthew (Oppenheimer) Modine. The music video portrays a high school student (Coy Stewart) struggling with personal troubles and thoughts of suicide. As he wrestles with his homosexuality, you may be wrestling with your zipper since the coy Coy can be seen donning undies. If that’s not hot enough, the lead lad is accompanied by his buddy (Nolan Gould) in bed. We’re not sure if they are friends with benefits since the two are interrupted before any serious action can begin. Nevertheless, both of the young dudes revel their bare chests and same-sex preferences. Perhaps that’s why the short was nominated for Best Music Video at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards. Even though it didn’t win the gold, this music video earned a standing ovation in Mr. Man’s jeans!
