Magic Mike is thought of as THE male stripper movie, but Chocolate City is a lesser-known male stripper film that deserves to go toe-to-toe with Magic Mike. Chocolate City features a Black cast and delicious-looking men stripping for top dollar, just like the hot boys in Magic Mike. Magic Mike was widely popular at the theaters, but Chocolate City enjoyed quieter success. Either way, they both feature a lot of hot men. So I'm wondering: which of these male stripper movies is better?

Magic Mike came first in 2012 and it featured Channing Tatum's incredible dance moves and abs in several scenes. He wasn't the only one. This Steven Soderbergh-directed drama tells the story of a 30-year-old Florida boy who is trying to make a decent living as a construction worker by day and a dancer by night. He works at a club run by the impossibly sexy Matthew McConaughey in his hottest role yet.

Drugs, partying, and girls get in the way here as boys like Alex Pettyfer make their living by showing their booties. There are so many standout sexpots in this movie, including Matt Bomer in booty-baring thongs.

Chocolate City came out in 2015 and the tagline was literally "Are You Ready for the Real Magic" which is clearly shade thrown at Magic Mike's way. In this hot stripper film, a college student (Robert Ri'chard) with bad debt and bad luck meets a club owner played by the always gorgeous Michael Jai White. Michael shows the kid the world of male stripping and he soon finds himself absorbed in the world of male stripping. It's not hard to see why when you meet his mentors like Tyson Beckford, Darrin Dewitt Henson, and Bolo the Entertainer.

It is my personal opinion that Chocolate City is superior to Magic Mike. The men are slightly hotter, but the movie itself focuses on the sexy men rather than trying to implant a plot. Magic Mike, while sexy, did not need so much plot! Why all the drug and money side plots when all I cared about was what was going down at the strip club? Chocolate City knew that all we wanted to really know about was the inner-workings of the men at the strip club and what's inside their pants. Magic Mike needed more hot men, preferably with even fewer clothes. That is just my opinion over here as a professional watcher of hot men in movies, so I'll leave you to your own conclusions.
