The iconic 1997 hit film The Full Monty, about a group of unemployed British men who decide to bounce back from the closing of their town’s steel mill by becoming male strippers, is getting the series reboot treatment - and on Disney+ no less!
Having already spawned a stage musical version, we're now getting an eight part follow up that reunites the film’s cast, lead by stars Robert Carlyle and Game of Throne’s Mark Addy, after 25 years.
Obviously the idea is to see what happened to everybody after that skin-credible stage performance where they did the one thing those fancy Chippendales dancers (or even Magic Mike and friends) don’t - rip off their thongs and go “the full monty.” Our guess is from the trailer is that things aren’t going great, though even more than two decades later, they are still remembered for showing their packages.
Our biggest question, of course, is will the gang be getting naked again? Or perhaps they’ll inspire the younger generation to pick up where they left off? I mean, why still call it The Full Monty, if no one is dropping trou?
