Hugo Speer may have made his television debut on Woof! in 1993, but this British fox is no dog. In fact, the Northern Englishman’s fantastic assets have been known to produce plenty of Yorkshire pudding in the pants of fans around the world! After studying acting at the Arts Educational School, Speer appeared in Sydney Pollack’s The Interpreter (2005) and Lars von Trier’s Nymphomaniac: Vol. I (2013). I (2013). Yet the be-thonged bloke is best known for flashing his abs and ass in The Full Monty (1997). No doubt, Hugo’s bulging briefs are among the reasons the Oscar-nominated movie was a box office hit! Over on the small screen, Speer scored guest spots (The Bill, Clocking Off) and recurring roles (Bedlam, Men Behaving Badly, Silent Witness) on various shows and parts in TV movies (An Englishman in New York, Green-Eyed Monster). The prolific performer proved he’s at home in any era, from 43 AD via Britannia (2017-2019) to the 21st century with London Kills (2019). In between, Hugo’s timeless appeal could be seen circa the 1600s in The Musketeers (2014-2016); the 1700s in Fanny Hill (2007); the 1800s in Bleak House (2005); the 1950s in Father Brown (2013-2020); and even as himself in the 20th century thanks to an episode on The Drew Carey Show (1997). The boob tube babe also played Richard Rose on Hearts and Bones (2000-2001) and Lieutenant Bohdan on Shadow and Bone (2021). What? There’s no program called Mr. Man’s Bone? If so, it would be all about Mr. Speer!
