Welcome to Chippendales (2022-2023)

The Hulu miniseries Welcome to Chippendales rides the salacious true crime wave washing over television to bring us the pioneering, lusy, and murderous Chippendales origin story! We probably don't need to tell you that Chippendales is the exotic male strip club in which women get to toggle men versus the other way around. Post-Magic Mike this may seem unremarkable, but Chippendales was revolutionary when it was founded in 1979, and Welcome to Chippendales centers on the immigrant founder who created a sensation - and dabbled in some murder along the way. Hooked? We thought so.

Funnyman turned serious actor Kumail Nanjiani plays the Indian immigrant who founded Chippendales, Somen “Steve” Banerjee. He employs a choreographer named Nick De Noia (Murray Bartlett of The White Lotus ass-eating fame) to turn the revue from a simple strip show to more of a choreographed performance. As we all know, IRL it caught on like wildfire and became a boner fide 80s and 90s pop culture phenomenon, even being parodied on Saturday Night Live by the legendary Patrick Swayze. Anyway, Nick De Noia soon gets all of the media attention, and Somen's jealousy drives him to do crazy things. This is all based on a true story, and any good true story of Chippendales has to include gorgeous male strippers! Thankfully we took the time to call out all of the sexy boys lending their bods (and more importantly bulges - you can't forget the bulges!) to this buzzy Hulu miniseries.
