Manila in the Claws of Light (1975)

Manila in the Claws of Light (1975) is a Filipino gay cult classic! In this movie that has a run time of two hours and five minutes, one young man named Julio Madiaga goes from his rural hometown to Manila in order to search for his long-lost love. Who is his long lost love? A beautiful young lady named Ligaya. Despite the fact that his "true love" is a woman, we do get to see a gay scene that seems like quite a lot for a 1970s South Asian film. This movie was directed by Lino Brocka and was based on a novel by Edgardo Reyes. Julio Madiaga is played by babely actor Bembol Rocco who will make you loco when you watch him gently caress another shirtless and uncredited young man. The two sexy golden-skinned dudes let their shirtless bodies glisten in this sweaty scene as they gently kiss one another. They kiss each other's chests and we are lead to believe that more is to come, but we do not get to see actual gay sex. Still, this is pretty sexy! This steamy scene is it for gayness in the movie, but we do get to enjoy Bembol go shirtless several other times. In one scene, he is shirtless outside and letting the sun beat down on his sweaty chest. His pecs and lean abs are making us drool! It looks like Bembol Rocco in the 1970s was the REAL thrilla in Manila and we want to get our claws on him.
