Biography

With his tough guy looks, charm, and inherent acting talent, Michael Bowen was built for Hollywood. But even though he's one of the best at playing bad guys, Michael didn't grow up in a rough situation. The dude we've been beating off to all these years was the son of a famous beat generation artist and an actress, who grew up among the weirdos in San Francisco, and is actually the half brother of Keith Carradine on his mom's side. Surrounded by so many creatives it's not shocking Michael gravitated to the arts, and after turning to acting Michael made his screen debut on an episode of Knots Landing, but first came to fame as Nicolas Cage's popped collar wearing enemy Tommy in Valley Girl (1983). Michael worked throughout the 80's in stuff like Night of the Comet (1984) and Iron Eagle (1986), before playing Fletch in Beverly Hills Cop III (1994), and Gus in Excess Baggage (1997), while also appearing on shows like JAG, Pacific Blue, NYPD Blue and ER throughout the 90's. In 1997 he played police detective Mark Dargus in Jackie Brown (1997), which led to a long running relationship between Bowen and Quentin Tarantino. After playing Rick Spector in Magnolia (1999), he reteamed with Tarantino to play Buck who likes to...party, in Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003). He had a long run as the evil "other" Danny Pickett on LOST but Michael finally lost his clothes in Tarantino's slave revenge flick Django Unchained (2012). Michael plays a tracker hunting down Django, with Michael flaunting a prosthetic package, getting shot in the privates after he gets out of a bath tub. Though he kept his clothes on, Michael looked scary sexy as the evil Nazi Uncle Jack on the amazing show Breaking Bad. You’ll be breaking out in a sweat when you see Mr. Brown without his clothes on! Most recently, Michael has been playing Vin on Animal Kingdom. Whenever he's on screen, Michael gives us a raging Bowener!
