Michael Maien is one of those mainstream actors that’s not afraid to take on challenging roles, escaping the status quo of romantic dramas and saccharine sweet flicks. The fact that his parents were in the arts—painter mother, pianist father—more than likely informed Michael’s choice of films. It’s also no surprise that before becoming an actor, Michael carved out a career as a pop singer, releasing multiple hit singles in his home country of Germany. It’s too bad Michael isn’t better known across the world, because he certainly made a name for himself with his appearances in the films Once a Greek (1966), Sexual Partnership (1968), Porno Baby (1970), and 2069: A Sex Odyssey (1974). Despite the intriguing, loin-tingling titles, the handsome actor failed to get nude in any of them. Michael’s only nude appearance came in the outrageously gruesome, blood-splattered flick Mark of the Devil (1970). During a less-than-sexy scene of pain and depravity, Michael teased a brief yet pleasing look at his butt as he’s forced to sit down on some spiky, skin-puncturing seat. Not cool, not sexy, but we appreciate the seconds before the horror kicks in.
