There’s no place like home — especially when it comes to Mike Holmes. No, we’re not referring to the Canadian builder and contractor with the same name, even though he’s built too. Instead, we’re referring to the actor who played Mike Scott. No, not Steve Carell. He portrayed Michael Scott, the boss at Dunder Mifflin Inc., in the American version of the popular sitcom The Office (2005-2013). We’re referring to the blonde who had a small but memorable part in the indie flick The Room (2003). The R-rated melodrama features Tommy Wiseau, Greg Sestero, Juliette Danielle, Dan Janjigian, and the aforementioned Mike Holmes as Mike Scott. Got it? Although critics unanimously panned the film as a flop, it managed to gain cult momentum and the attention of Paul Rudd, James Franco, Will Arnett, Seth Rogen, David Cross, Dave Franco, and Kristen Bell whose television series Veronica Mars (2004-2019) would often reference the movie. The Franco brothers did Bell one better by portraying Wiseau and Sestero in the biopic The Disaster Artist (2017). Of course, this begs the question: Where does Mike Holmes come in? If you’re watching The Room, the answer is Mike comes on screen just in time to make out with a chick on the couch. As she goes down on him, he takes off his top to show off his hairy chest. The sight of his massive pecs won’t leave much room in your pants! In other words, the sexy scene will heighten your interest — among other things!
