Off The Hook, also titled Detox, is a French Netflix sitcom about two best girlfriends who decide to do the unthinkable - they decide to give up their smartphones. Why such a drastic decision? One of the two girls has become so obsessed with her ex that she uses her phone to peruse his emails and to track him via GPS. The other friend faces public humiliation and can't escape the bullying online. Sure, their situations are drastic, but everyone can relate to the feeling of wanting to give up their smartphones, and through Off the Hook, we can live vicariously through these two courageous friends! Their movement catches on in Off The Hook, and before they know it, the people around them decide to give up their phones as well. Will Off The Hook spawn an anti-digital movement? We sure hope not!
