This June, studly NFL player Carl Nassib bravely revealed to the world that he's a proud gay man. The twenty-eight-year-old defensive end for the Las Vegas Raiders is the only out player in the entire NFL, and anyone who feared the worst was put at ease when the NFL didn't turn into a Lil Nas X music video. The world kept on spinning, and it turns out, Carl kept on dating!
This cutie recently revealed that is does indeed have a boyfriend. While this mystery man has not yet ben revealed, Nassib gushed about his beau:
I just wanted to be someone’s number one priority, and I couldn’t have that. So that was the one thing where I was like, ‘Man, I really fucking want that.’ But I got that now, so it’s good.
He also divulges that his boyfriend was not out to his family when the two started seeing each other:
When I met my boyfriend, he wasn’t even out to his family. He was asking me for advice and I was like, ‘Dude, I’m just supportive. Fuck. I don’t know.’
Carl isn't afraid to speak out on his experience as an out gay player in a primarily straight sports league. He admits that coming out didn't necessarily make life easier for him:
The answer you would probably expect is, ‘Oh my God this weight was lifted off my shoulders.’ [But] It is a little more stressful, I will say. Being the only out gay guy in the NFL is a little stressful. It’s gotten so much easier since camp. I remember the first three days of camp, I went out to practice, and just felt like I was suffocating, and the whole field was spinning.
