Queen of the South (2016-2019)

Revenge reigns on the American TV series Queen of the South (2016-2019), not to be confused with British show The White Queen (2013). Like the Spanish-language telenovela La Reina del Sur (2011-2023), this crime drama is based on Arturo Pérez-Reverte’s same-named novel from 2002. The small screen saga takes 62 episodes to tell the story of Teresa Mendoza (Alice Braga), an impoverished woman in Mexico who is involved with Raymundo “Güero” Dávila (Jon-Michael Ecker), her drug trafficking boyfriend. As such, we get to see his naked chest when they have sex during the show’s pilot episode. But when Güero is whacked off (and not in a good way), Teresa must flee to the U.S. for safety since the drug cartel is chasing her. After moving, Ms. Mendoza finds an unlikely ally from her past. As a result, the two team up to bring down the drug kingpin (Armando Riesco) who had her man killed. While Teresa heads north of the border, your hands will be going south of your belt when Joaquim de Almeida goes shirtless on episode 10. The second season brings views of the smooth abs on Mark Consuelos and Ryan O’Nan’s hairy chest. If that’s not sexy enough, the latter actor dons a teeny Speedo. By season 3, we see Hemky Madera and Nick Sagar literally lose their tops. The same is true for Bailey Chase, Joseph T. Campos and Onye Eme-Akwari in season 4.
