Richard E. Grant grants fans with his incredible presence in everything from cult classics (Withnail and I, Henry & June) to blockbusters (Logan, Spice World, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) and box office flops (Hudson Hawk, Dom Hemingway). With his gentlemanly come-hither accent and lean physique, the University of Cape Town grad is a staple in period pieces, such as Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992), The Age of Innocence (1993), The Portrait of a Lady (1996), and Persuasion (2022). Through the years, Grant could be seen on stage in My Fair Lady (2008, 2017) and heard in animated flicks (Corpse Bride, Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties, The Spine of Night). In addition to appearing in Robert Altman’s ensemble comedies (The Player, Prêt-à-Porter, Gosford Park), Grant wrote and directed the film Wah-Wah (2005) starring Nicholas Hoult. If that’s not impressive enough, Richard won an Independent Spirit Award and scored Oscar, BAFTA, Golden Globe, and SAG nominations for his gay turn in Can You Ever Forgive Me? (2018). On the small screen, Dick popped up on popular shows, including Doctor Who (2012-2013), Downton Abbey (2014), Girls (2014), Game of Thrones (2016), and Loki (2021). The boob tube babe also played King George IV in A Royal Scandal (1997); Bob Cratchit in A Christmas Carol (1999); Mycroft Holmes in Sherlock: Case of Evil (2002); and the title role in The Scarlet Pimpernel (1999-2000). Yet we prefer his butt-baring part in How to Get Ahead in Advertising (1989) because we can’t get enough of Dick!
