But Mr. Richardson really became a mainstay of the small screen during the seven years he played Richard Splett, the bumbling campaign aide to Selina Meyer on Veep. The perpetual Emmy darling made Sam a star, and the big Teddy Bear continued to wow us as Sam Duvet in Detroiters (2017) which he co-created with Tim Robinson.
