Stephen Adly Guirgis is an acclaimed playwright and sometimes actor who is probably best known outside of the theatre world for his work in the fringe world of films like Todd Solondz's Palindromes (2005), Charlie Kaufman's Synecdoche, New York (2008), and Kenneth Lonergan's Margaret (2011). In addition to writing the award winning plays The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, The Motherfucker With the Hat, and Between Riverside and Crazy, Guirgis has also written for the television show N.Y.P.D. Blue and the Baz Luhrmann Netflix series The Get Down. In 2022, Guirgis appeared in a small but memorable role in Owen Kline's directorial debut Funny Pages (2022), kicking the film off with a look at his bare ass when he strips naked to pose for a sketch by the film's main character! Now that's a side of Stephen we wouldn't mind seeing a lot more of in the future!
