Biography

Stewart Bevan got started as an actor by chasing a girl who was into doing theater into an acting troop, setting off a chain of events that would lead to would see him star in nearly four decades worth of movies. Girls have been the ones chasing him, ever since. While enrolled at theatre school, him and his buddy, future MacGyver star Michael Des Barres auditioned for a role in the Sidney Poitier cleans up a school full of punk teens classic, To Sir, With Love (1967). They both got roles, and yessir, we've loved them ever since. We really loved his work in the actors getting offed in the theater slasher The Flesh and Blood Show (1972). Stewart makes sure the movie lives up to its title, giving us a show of his naked flesh with some fantastic full frontal displays that are sure to get your blood pumping. We get to see him lounging on the floor, cowering in the corner, and grasping onto a naked lady on the sofa, all in his birthday suit, while he's under attack by a knife wielding psycho. Mind you this is all in black and white; all the better to appreciate the contrast, contours, and shadows in his lean definition. And while a lot of guys are getting awfully trim-happy these days, opting for little to no bush - Bevan harkens back to an era that encouraged men and women to let their freak fur fly. Yes, he lives up to his character's name Harry Mulligan in The Flesh and Blood Show, keeping his nether regions as hairy as he is hung. What a show indeed! Stewart moved on to play Welsh Nobel Laureate biologist Clifford Jones on Doctor Who, and join John Wayne in the Chicago Cop moves to LA to solve a crime drama Brannigan (1975) in the 70's. Stewart turned to the small screen in the 80's with one offs on stuff like The Gentle Touch and Number 10, but didn't do much acting in the 90's and 2000's. The last feature film we saw Stewart in was the runaway kids drama The Scouting Book for Boys (2009). Unfortunately, Stewart died on February 20th, 2022 at the age of 73. Many British boys, but so much British beav, severely misses Stewart Bevan.
