Tatuagem (2013)

Those who are fond of foreign films, vicarious travel, retro stories, gay love stories and skin on screen will love Tatuagem (2013). Under the pen and direction of Hilton Lacerd, the drama follows Clécio Wanderley (Irandhir Santos) in the 1970s. He’s the leader of an avant garde theater troupe which indulges in debauchery-laced and nudity-filled performances in Brazil. It’s not just a salacious act, the shows are his way of trying to change the political culture of the country. When Clécio isn’t challenging the status quo on stage, he’s maintaining his friendship with Paulete (Rodrigo Garcia). But everything changes when Paulete’s brother-in-law Fininha (Jesuíta Barbosa) comes for a visit and becomes smitten with Clécio and impressed with his artistic vision. As you can guess, it’s only a matter of time before the two get lost in a steamy relationship that results in a lot of flesh! For starters, Ariclenes Barroso flashes his abs, ass and shaft in the shower just 23 minutes into the flick. Not to be outdone, Mr. Barbosa and Mr. Santos bare their collective junk during a steamy hump at the 38-minute mark. If that’s not homoerotic enough, Jesuíta continues to reveal his peen throughout the darkly-lit scene. No wonder the movie was named Best Picture at the Festival de Gramado. Also known as Tattoo, this skinternational flick features dialogue in Portuguese. Yet whenever Ariclenes,Irandhir, and Jesuíta appear in the buff, you won’t want to divert your eyes by reading subtitles. Focus on the international language of lust!
